Play it up with plaid.

So here's the situation: It's a Thursday. You have errands to run, a lunch date at noon, maybe some shopping after, groceries to pick up for dinner and, you just cannot be bothered with an over-analyzed outfit. But wait! Of course, your go-to white tee and boyfriend jeans! DUH. Then, you ask yourself, "Is this a little too boring?" Not after you have the genius idea to tie a plaid button up around your waist. Instant cool. Well done. Wish I had thought of that.

Ok, I'm done. Haha. But in all seriousness, I'm just loving this trend. Its so effortless. Try it out!

Spring

Hellllo! Long time, no post. I know, I know. Better late than never..? Right? Right!

In other exciting news: today is the first day of spring! HURRAY! Being in California, we don't really experience a harsh winter. Nonetheless, there's always a nice buzz in the air come spring time, and I'm a fan of it :)

This is a look I did for Spring/ Summer. I love me a good maxi skirt! I paired it with a knit crop top. Seriously, crop tops are all the rage right now. I'm on board. And can we take a moment to talk about this necklace? I have never EVER received more compliments on a necklace than when I wore this one. It's a show stopper. And I'm happily in love with it.

Let's talk about boyfriend jeans.

I have been a bit skeptical about boyfriend jeans. For me, they are something that I always love on other people, but never myself. That is, however, until I discovered the "Tomboy" jean  by Vigoss at Nordstrom. They have just enough of a baggy feel without making you feel like your slowly drowning in denim. Needless to say, I've fallen in love with them. As in... I've worn them every day since purchase. Yeah, they're that good. On a day to day basis, I wear them with a baggy basic tee, a belt and some gladiators. For this outfit, however, I dressed these jeans up with a structured polka dot top, my new obsession-of-a-hat and  my good ole black heels. There are so many options when it comes to these jeans, and I'm excited to play with them!

Statement Stems

As of lately, I've really been embracing patterned pants. They're such an easy statement piece. I especially love them because my style tends to be quite simple (lots of black, grey & neutrals). With that being said, statement pants are nice way for me to step out of the box. I think its important when styling these particular types of pants, to not let it get too.. how do I put it.. um Grandma-y (?) Haha. I love wearing these pants with a colored blouse & something edgy. Enjoy the weekend lovelies!
